 Is Enlightenment the only way a being can exit the 5 realms of existence (cycle of rebirth)? Or is there another way such as being destroyed?


 My thoughts are a bit muddled but I'm wondering if the truth that the 5 realms will be empty at some point in the future guarantees that all beings will one day achieve full enlightenment.


 Or if it means something else . .

It is through learning and practicing The Eight Fold Path that the mind is trained to attain Enlightenment. And having done so, one will escape The Cycle of Rebirth.

The Buddha nor I have taught that someday all The Five Realms will be empty.

 Does this mean that some beings may experience the torment of the 5 realms for all of eternity?


 Will each being eventually achieve Enlightenment?


 Or is it unwise to Teach the answer? Or is it impossible to know.

The Buddha does not teach that the world is eternal nor non-eternal. He does not teach the world is finite or infinite. These are undeclared Teachings.

 It is possible....there are essentially 80,000 more years left of humanity for beings to accomplish this goal.

Whether it will happen or not, is yet to be determined.

If you do the work you need to in this life, fortunately, you will not be here to see that.

We will only know once we get to that point 80,000 years from now.
