Teacher David Roylance

Lesson 1

An Enlightened being wakes up joyful, is joyful all day long, and goes to sleep joyful.

Lesson 2

The peace and joy of the Enlightened mind is immeasurable, it is incomparable to anything one has ever experienced.

Lesson 3

An Enlightened being has transcended trying to change the world because they realize they can't do that.

All they can do is change their own mind.

Lesson 4

If you accept responsibility for the condition of your own mind, then you can transform it.

Lesson 5

A wise one is not going to hope, dream, or wish for awakening of the mind but instead, take consistent and deliberate steps towards attaining their own awakening to the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 6

The Buddha Has Already Done the Hard Work for You.

A Buddha has already done the hard work of figuring out how to attain Enlightenment.

You just need to learn and practice his Teachings to improve the condition of the mind and your life.

Lesson 7

The Path to Enlightenment is to eliminate 100% of the discontentedness of the mind and a path to becoming a better human being.

Lesson 8

Humans do not need to live with sadness, anger, guilt, shame, fear, etc. the mind can be trained to completely and entirely eliminate these discontent feelings.

Lesson 9

Enlightenment is the ultimate goal which is a mind that is peaceful, calm, serene and content with joy - permanently.

Lesson 10

Through learning and practicing Gotama Buddha's Teachings, in his own words, The Perfectly Enlightened One's wisdom can penetrate the mind and you can experience the breakthrough to realizing the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 11

The problem that the unEnlightened mind is experiencing is not the outside world, but the inner world.

Lesson 12

Enjoy the journey to a peaceful and content mind…and a peaceful and content life.

Lesson 13

The time has come for the evolution of our species beyond our current
state of existence through the pursuit of Enlightenment, resulting in a
Higher Consciousness for all humans. To sustain life on this planet, we
must all evolve to a Higher Consciousness and eliminate craving, anger,
and ignorance. The time is now.

Lesson 14

The mental state of Enlightenment will completely eliminate
discontentedness of the mind, for every human.

Lesson 15

Happiness is impermanent and the constant craving of happiness is the reason why you have not been able to attain lasting happiness in your life.

Lesson 16

Once you gain the wisdom that leads you to Enlightenment, you will not “unlearn” that wisdom and the mind will permanently reside peaceful, calm, serene, and content with joy.

Lesson 17

Enlightenment is a peaceful, calm, serene, and content mind with joy that is
permanent.

Lesson 18

It is through learning and practicing The Eight Fold Path that the mind is trained to attain Enlightenment. And having done so, one will escape The Cycle of Rebirth.

Lesson 19

You do not need to be "go go go" everyday.

You can improve your life by training the mind, changing how you make decisions.

Lesson 20

It is only when the mind is awakened to Enlightenment that one’s life will be completely at ease.

Lesson 21

It is possible to train the mind to have enjoyment and fun without conditioned pleasant feelings.

Lesson 22

Attaining the peace, calmness, serenity, and contentedness with joy that is the Enlightenment mind is the very best thing you could ever do for your life, the lives of those close to you, and all of humanity.

Lesson 23

The Buddha’s Teachings are not telling you what you should or should not do but instead, guiding you to eliminate the pollutions of mind so that there is no longer any discontentedness.

Lesson 24

You have no responsibility to society….but instead, you can make wise decisions that do not cause harm to others and in return, this will ensure harm does not come to you.

Lesson 25

Any struggles or difficulties that one is experiencing is self-imposed.

Lesson 26

Never give up.

Remember, the beginning is always the hardest.

Lesson 27

In order to learn and progress on The Path, a Student would need to "ask questions" and then "listen to the answers".

Lesson 28

When you take responsibility for your own discontent mind, then and only then, can you learn and grow to improve it.

Lesson 29

While there are some who put a lot of belief and superstition into dreams and dream interpretation, it is best that as you remember dreams to just move past it, remaining unattached to acquiring the meaning of a dream. Consider a dream in the past while focusing on what you need to do in the present moment to continue your progress on this path.

Lesson 30

You need to accept responsibility for your own discontent mind and the emotions you
experience. Rather than blaming pleasant feelings, painful feelings, and feelings that
are neither painful-nor-pleasant on someone or something external, see the truth that you cause your own discontent mind.

Lesson 31

We cannot run from this world or all that has accumulated in the mind, so the
only answer is to seek Teachings, understanding, and protection in the
further progress towards emptying the mind on The Path to Enlightenment.

Lesson 32

Running away from the struggles and difficulties of life is just to ensure they will continue to happen, over and over again.

The Teachings of The Buddha are to walk towards the struggles and difficulties so that you can cultivate wisdom to overcome them, ensuring they will not repeat.

Walk towards the struggle...you will be glad you did.

Lesson 33

The Teachings of The Buddha are a guide for your life, they are not for the mind to become overly obsessive about them.

Lesson 34

No one who has ever been born was perfect from birth to death. You are a "work in progress”.

Lesson 35

Anyone who has ever accomplished anything wonderful has struggled. Do not shrink back from the struggle.

Lesson 36

All the understanding of the struggles you are facing and the solutions to those struggles are found in The Teachings of "The Buddha”.

Lesson 37

Don't Shrink Back From The Struggle.

Learn, Reflect, Practice.

Determination, Dedication, Diligence.

Lesson 38

The unEnlightened mind will attempt to sabotage its progress towards Enlightenment by looking for excuses of why it cannot get to Enlightenment so that, it can remain complacent.

Oftentimes, it will judge others looking for faults in those around you so that, it will have an excuse of why you need to "give up" on your pursuit to Enlightenment.

Lesson 39

Accepting responsibility for your own feelings as coming from the mind not caused by others, is an important step in one's growth and evolution on The Path to Enlightenment and in life.

Lesson 40

Politeness & Respect.

A Foundation of Buddhist Practice and Attainment of Enlightenment.

Lesson 41

You will make mistakes in life.

But, it is what you do next after the mistake that will determine if it is used to cultivate wisdom for forward progress or not.

You can end the struggles and difficulties by cultivating wisdom based on your mistakes so they won't repeat, which will then create forward progress.

Lesson 42

To get to Enlightenment, you will need to gradually learn, understand, and practice The Eight Fold Path, the core and central Teaching of The Buddha.

There is no way to get to Enlightenment without this important foundation.

You need to know it like the “back of your hand”. Up/Down, Backward/Forward, Left/Right.

Unfortunately, there are no short cuts.

Lesson 43

You have found The Path to Enlightenment.

Now, you just need to apply consistent dedication to learn and practice The Teachings.

Gradual Training, Gradual Practice, and Gradual Progress.

Lesson 44

It is a real struggle to exist in a world that one does not understand.

The Buddha's Teachings provide the wisdom to help you understand The Natural Laws of Existence so that you can make wiser decisions leading to wholesome outcomes.

Lesson 45

This is the final struggle of all struggles.

Lesson 46

These Teachings can be practiced within any religious tradition or without any religion at all. A belief in God is not required and will not hinder your progress.

Lesson 47

All progress on The Path to Enlightenment is attained through making wholesome individual choices, wholesome individual decisions as part of one’s own “free will”.

Lesson 48

While Enlightenment is significant and important, there are other things in the world besides Enlightenment. Progressing towards Enlightenment and having attained it, life will be SO much better….and all things are possible.

Lesson 49

Attaining Enlightenment is like the beginning of the rest of your life.

Lesson 50

As long as the mind is unawakened (i.e. lacking wisdom) to The Natural Laws of Existence, an individual will struggle and have difficulties in the world.

Lesson 51

Student: Meditation is really challenging for me. When I close the eyes, there is nothing but thoughts that take the mind away from the breath.

Teacher: The fact that it is challenging means that it is really good for the mind. I suggest you keep doing it, and do more of it.

Lesson 52

Remember, one aspect of this practice is to eliminate ego. So it is not important that we all force ourselves into the same body position or emulate Gotama Buddha’s meditation posture to determine who is doing it “right” or “wrong” or who is better than another.

Lesson 53

Whenever there is judgment, there is ego present.
The mind needs to reside without judgment or ego.

Lesson 54

When the mind is displeased, it will either fight or run.
Train the mind to be still, calm, and peaceful.

Lesson 55

The Buddha brings your attention to the understanding that to improve your life, you will need to improve the mind.

The work begins within your own mind.

The Path to Enlightenment is not to change others but instead, to change your own mind.

Lesson 56

Meditation and being able to identify one’s own cravings are the two most important skills a Practitioner needs to develop on this path to the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 57

Before the ego destroys your life, you will need to destroy it.

Eliminating the ego is serious work that requires significant dedication to fully eradicate from the mind.

Lesson 58

There is nothing "funny" about the ego. It will destroy all your relationships and your life.

Lesson 59

It would be unwise to subscribe to the expectations that others have of you, it would only lead to your own discontentedness.

Lesson 60

Once you train the mind to not crave/desire permanence, then it will experience permanent peacefulness and joy.

Lesson 61

You will need to eliminate all cravings/desires/attachments including, any craving/desire for Enlightenment itself.

Lesson 62

You can eliminate any craving/desire for Enlightenment itself by considering that the mind is already Enlightened, you just need to remove the pollutions that are hindering it from experiencing the brightness and radiance of the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 63

Liberation of mind on The Path to Enlightenment includes being able to scroll past something you disagree with…

Due to The Universal Truth of Impermanence, it is impossible to permanently agree with "everything" you see posted.

Lesson 64

The unEnlightened mind thinks, "I am right and everyone else is wrong"...because there is still conceit/arrogance/judgment of others.

The Enlightened mind thinks, "Let me ask questions so that I can understand a new perspective to acquire wisdom”.

Lesson 65

We should always and forever look for ways to show gratitude, respect, and dedication to our parents or caregivers.

Lesson 66

The ego can lurk in the corners of the mind appearing to be eliminated when in reality, it is just dormant.

One needs to stay vigilant to ensure they fully and completely eliminate conceit, arrogance, pride, judgement of others, and thinking they are above or below others.

Always practicing humbleness and being down to earth….will promote improved personal and professional relationships through wholesome intentions, speech, and actions.

Lesson 67

It takes a tamed mind to guide another individual to tame their mind.

It takes an Enlightened mind to guide others to Enlightenment.

Lesson 68

As long as the mind is craving permanent happiness, it will not experience it.

When the mind is willing and able to let go of temporary happiness, then it can experience permanent joy.

Lesson 69

Just like a security guard is watching over a property to determine when and how to take action…

Mindfulness (i.e. awareness of mind) is the guard watching over the mind for arising bodily sensations so that you can take action to "cut them off and let them go" ensuring discontent feelings do not penetrate into the mind.

Lesson 70

When the unEnlightened mind experiences painful feelings, it will oftentimes have aversion (i.e. push away) to what it thinks is causing the discontent feelings with the thought, that is what will solve the problem...but it doesn't.

The mind needs to eliminate the cravings/desires/attachments that are causing the painful feelings to arise and the desire to push people and situations away with aversion. That is what will bring the mind complete peace and joy.

Lesson 71

The unEnlightened mind oftentimes wants to denigrate or diminish what it’s doing now to feel justified in its decision to move to something new.

An individual does not need to do this in order to make a decision to move forward in life as this unwise decision could only produce unwholesome results through burning bridges.

There are peaceful ways to move forward in life while still appreciating and having gratitude for people and situations that have contributed to helping you in life.

Lesson 72

A GREAT Leader is not the one who makes all the decisions but instead, is the one who listens to all the decisions the team is interested to make.

Then, the GREAT Leader makes the decisions that are in the best interest of the entire team.

Lesson 73

The mind may not be interested to admit and it may be a challenge to clearly see, that the mind causes all of its own discontent feelings.

Sadness, anger, frustration, irritation, annoyance, guilt, shame, fears, boredom, loneliness, shyness, jealousy, resentment, stress, anxiety, etc. are not caused by others but instead, by one's own mind.

Seeing this clearly, is the first step towards liberating the mind from 100% of all its discontent feelings to attain Enlightenment.

Lesson 74

When the unEnlightened mind craves/desires for things to be a certain way and causes itself discontentedness, it will try to control others, thinking that will solve the problem...but it doesn't.

The mind needs to eliminate the cravings/desires/attachments and that is what will bring it complete peace and joy.

Lesson 75

If you do not try because you think you will fail, then you will fail because you did not try.

Pursuing things as a goal, objective, or interest, without expecting to fail or succeed, is
“the middle way”.

When the ultimate goal is to acquire wisdom, there is no such thing as failure because everything experienced leads to wisdom.

Lesson 76

You will need to walk through the painful feelings in order to get to permanent mental state of peace and joy.

Lesson 77

Eliminate Discontentedness and Attain Peacefulness.

Do Not Eliminate Suffering and Attain Happiness.

Lesson 78

Eliminate Discontentedness and Attain Peacefulness.

Do Not Eliminate Suffering and Attain Happiness.

Lesson 79

A wise one refrains from gossip and slander, as that would only produce unwholesome results in one's own life.

Lesson 80

Gossip/Slander is produced by craving, ill will, and conceit.

All unwholesome qualities that need to be purified from the mind.

Lesson 81

To antidote and overcome craving, we learn to practice Breathing Mindfulness Meditation and generosity.

If we are experiencing craving/desire/attachment, we need to let it go, we can reflect on the impermanence or the disadvantages of the objects of our desire.

Lesson 82

You can attempt to train 7.5 billion people in the world to do things your way.

Or, you can train your own mind to not attach its peacefulness to what others say and do.

Lesson 83

There is no permanent self.

The physical body (i.e. self image) nor the mind (i.e. self identify) is who you are as a person.

There is "no self".

Lesson 81

When there is "rub" in your relationships, it is craving, anger, and ignorance (unknowing of true reality) that is the source of the problems.

Lesson 82

The Teachings of The Buddha are not explaining how “the world should be” through rules, commandments, or beliefs and the world becomes more peaceful through everyone following those rules and beliefs.

Instead, The Buddha explains how “the world is”, as part of The Natural Laws of Existence, so that you can gain wisdom of these natural laws to train the mind allowing you to navigate the world through wise decision making that produces wholesome results (i.e. wholesome Kamma) for an improved condition of mind and life so that you can then experience complete peacefulness and joy.

Lesson 83

Not everyone will love you, but also, not everyone will hate you.

This is just impermanence.

Lesson 84

If someone hates you, you would only be harming yourself to hate them back.

The illness of hate is not extinguished by more hate.

Lesson 85

Eliminate Discontentedness "not" Suffering.

Attain Peacefulness "not" Happiness.

Lesson 86

Understanding how to be an independent active learner, while knowing when and how to seek guidance, is an important quality of mind to be successful on The Path to Enlightenment.

Lesson 87

Humans do not need to live with sadness, anger, guilt, shame, fear, etc. the mind can be trained to completely and entirely eliminate these discontent feelings.

Lesson 88

Gotoma Buddha's Teachings are not a religion but rather, a "life practice" that guides one on a path to eliminate sadness, anger, loneliness, fears, depression, stress, and anxiety along with all other unwelcomed feelings.

Lesson 89

It is through learning and practicing The Eight Fold Path that the mind is trained to attain Enlightenment. And having done so, one will escape The Cycle of Rebirth.

Lesson 90

Eliminating personal existence view does not mean that you do not make wise choices about one’s own appearance. It means that one’s mind does not cling to the appearance (i.e. self image) nor the self identity defining who you are as a person through these things.

Lesson 91

The Enlightened mind does not base its inner feelings on what is or is not happening, there are no conditional feelings. Therefore, one is experiencing permanent mental qualities of unconditional happiness and joy….always….permanently.

Lesson 92

Enlightenment is the elimination of craving, anger, and ignorance, dissolving of the ego and realization of non-self.

Lesson 93

An Enlightened mind has eliminated 100% of all discontent feelings such as sadness, anger,
frustration, irritation, annoyance, guilt, shame, fears, boredom, loneliness, shyness, jealousy, resentment, stress, anxiety, etc.

Lesson 94

The unEnlightened mind does not understand “true reality” and through its misperceptions of how things function in the world, one makes unwise decisions leading to unwholesome results which includes discontent feelings.

Lesson 95

The Natural Laws of Existence are those aspects of the world that explain the way things happen in the world and are independently verifiable. They are not clearly seen by the untrained and unwise mind.

Lesson 96

It is “The Words of The Buddha” that explain The Natural Laws of Existence guiding the mind to acquire deep wisdom to make better free will decisions through a purified mind.

Lesson 97

“The mind” is not the brain. The brain is not “the mind”. The brain is the organ that controls the functions of “the body”. The mind is not physical in nature, it is not tangible and cannot be touched. But the mind can be trained.

Lesson 98

Let’s open up the stigma of talking about Enlightenment and accept that it should be the goal of every human to attain this state of mind.

Lesson 99

A simple way to think of the experience of Enlightenment, is that an Enlightened being, having eliminated 100% of all discontentedness, will always be in a good mood.

Lesson 100

A mind experiencing Enlightenment will have an unshakable calmness, steadiness, and be “content” or “satisfied with what is” experiencing no discontentedness.

Lesson 101

Gotama Buddha’s Teachings provide the mind with a path to Enlightenment, a permanent mental state that is peaceful, calm, serene, and content with joy.

Lesson 102

If the mind is unwilling to let go of impermanent conditioned happiness, it will never experience permanent unconditioned joy of the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 103

Complacency is the norm and is the most detrimental quality of the mind.

Lesson 104

Eliminating cravings/desires/attachments/wants/expectations for others to be a certain way is to eliminate the longing and yearning, to eliminate basing your feelings on what people choose to do or not do.

Lesson 105

A positive relationship does not mean a perfect relationship. It means that a Practitioner is working towards developing and cultivating their mind so that they can develop their relationships to be positive.

Lesson 106

Everything can be at ease....through training one's own mind.

Lesson 107

The excitement that the mind experiences is still discontentedness.

Lesson 108

An Enlightened being is able to enjoy something without a conditioned feeling. The mind needs to learn how to do this in order to experience Enlightenment.

Lesson 109

The Enlightened mind can easily experience enjoyment but, there are no conditioned feelings. The enjoyment does not arise, change, and fade away. An Enlightened being is enjoying all aspects of life.

Lesson 110

The vast majority of all cravings/desires/attachments are part of the fetter/taint/pollution of mind described as “sensual desire”.

Lesson 111

It is through training of the mind that one can eliminate the clinging to past experiences (i.e. trauma).

Lesson 112

The body is experiencing that which is being experienced in the mind.

Lesson 113

The mind is the boss and the body is the employee.

Lesson 114

Money is not the problem or the cause of the problem. The problem is discontentedness, the cause of the problem is craving/desire/attachment.

Lesson 115

Being heedless with alcohol, drugs, or other substances, either legal or illegal, does not promote a mind that is on a path to become clean, clear, and pure. The meaning of “heedlessness” is: careless, thoughtless, inattentive, un-calm, unaware, or unmindful.

Lesson 116

The very best gift we could ever give a child is to guide them towards attaining Enlightenment, cultivating a mind that has eliminated feelings such as sadness, anger, frustration, boredom, loneliness, etc., while practicing generosity, loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity towards all beings.

Lesson 117

If beings understood how truly peaceful and joyful the Enlightened mind is, there would be nothing they would allow to stand in the way of training their mind and their attainment of Enlightenment.

But, because beings do not know how truly peaceful and joyful the Enlightened mind is, they become complacent and have doubt, they are hindered and obstructed from experiencing the peace and joy they aspire to attain, the Enlightened mind.

Eliminate all complacency and doubt.

The Teachings of The Buddha lead exactly where he said they do, to peace, to joy, to Enlightenment.

Lesson 118

Abandoning the taking of life transforms the mind away from anger/hatred/ill will to cultivate loving-kindness and compassion.

Lesson 119

Since everything is a reflection of our minds, everything can be changed by our minds.

Lesson 120

We can only do two things with our mind.

We fill it up or we can empty it out.

But, we can not control our mind. You’ve tried that and it never works. So now, empty it out. That works.

Lesson 121

Right Mindfulness is to be aware of the mind in the present moment, not allowing the mind to live in the past or the future.

Lesson 122

Students should seek guidance through asking questions to gain understanding while developing an honest and respectful relationship with their Teachers.

Lesson 123

Impolite, unkind, unfriendly, and disrespectful speech will never produce any benefit for our life.
So why would we do it?

Lesson 124

May the mind always be peaceful. Meditate...

Lesson 125

Develop the mind in meditation to be so peaceful that if the body died in that moment, you would be ok with that and unaffected.

Lesson 126

While medications do change the chemistry of the brain, they also sedate the mind to push back past traumas, reduce anxiety, and suppress certain aspects of our thoughts but medications never “fix the problem”.

Lesson 127

“I” is the obstacle. (Ego)

Lesson 128

The mind needs to be trained to accept that not everyone is going to like you.

This requires an understanding of impermanence.

Lesson 129

A life partner is not to tell you what you should or should not do but instead, to support you in what you are choosing to do.

Lesson 130

When the mind is thinking negatively of others, "cut that off and let it go".

No need to think negatively of other people.

Lesson 131

A positive mind will see positivity in others.

A negative mind will see negativity in others.

Lesson 132

Once you stop asking questions and assume you know, the mind is then clinging to its perceptions.

Lesson 133

As long as you are cultivating wisdom there is no such thing as failure.

Lesson 134

A Teacher can only "point the way" as a guide.

A Student will need to strive.

Lesson 135

Just because someone says you have conceit, does not make it true.

Look within the mind to determine the truth for yourself.

Lesson 136

When expectations are not met, the unEnlightened mind will want to push away the situation or the person...this is aversion.

Lesson 137

The moment the mind is thinking negatively of others, that is its pollutions arising.

Eliminate that through "cutting it off".

Lesson 138

The last thing the ego wants to hear is that, "the mind has ego".

Lesson 139

Unwise moral conduct will only drive people away from you.

You can transform this through training of the mind…

Lesson 140

Bitterness, harshness, and hostility is only harming your own mind, causing difficulties in developing harmonious relationships.

Lesson 141

When the mind is allowed to blame others for the unwise decisions it makes and the unwholesome results experienced, it does not allow the mind to cultivate wisdom to make improvements in your life and allows the ego to continue to exist.

Everything you experience is a result of your decisions.

If there is anything in your life that you would rather not occur, cultivate wisdom, make different decisions, and you will experience different results.

Lesson 142

Learning and practicing The Teachings of The Buddha is the best thing you can do for yourself, those close to you, and all of humanity.

Lesson 143

Accepting responsibility for your own feelings as coming from the mind not caused by others, is an important step in one's growth and evolution on The Path to Enlightenment and in life.

Lesson 144

Do not easily throw away or walk away from someone who has shown deep care and concern for you and your growth.

It would be unwise to treat a relationship like a scrap of paper, discarding it without any thought.

It is very rare to have someone in your life who cares enough about you to truly help you in all your times of need.

Lesson 145

Love the people in your life "SO" much that you are only willing to talk when the mind is calm, not putting out any harsh speech into the world, speaking with a mind of loving-kindness.

When needed, be willing to walk away from a conversation rather than, choosing to be bitter, harsh, or hostile so that you will not damage your relationships.

Lesson 146

In many cases, The Teachings of The Buddha are exactly the opposite of everything you have ever thought of or learned, in your entire life.

That is the mind's lack of wisdom, misunderstanding, confusion, unknowing of true reality, oftentimes referred to as ignorance, that it needs to overcome through the cultivation of wisdom.

This is the "better way of life" that you are able to walk towards and experience, eliminating 100% of all discontentedness, if you cultivate the wisdom and practice that wisdom through your decision making.

Lesson 147

If you really love someone, should they do the things they would like to do or what you want them to do?

True love does not include forcing others to do things our way. Eliminating expectations of others will produce harmonious relationships.

Lesson 148

Not everyone will like you, some will dislike you.

That dislike it coming from their own mind.

Lesson 149

The Path to Enlightenment
=
The Path to a Better Life

Lesson 150

When you consider people have wholesome intentions, no longer thinking negative of others, you are headed in the right direction.

Lesson 151

Life is SO wonderful...when you train the mind to purify the mind.

Lesson 152

Anger and hatred will only produce more anger and hatred. Loving "all beings" is the remedy.

Lesson 153

Loving "all beings" includes, not putting expectations on others or attempting to force them to do things your way.

Loving "all beings" includes having a genuine interest in seeing all beings be well while understanding, each being is responsible for their own wellness.

Lesson 156

Everything that is in The Pali Canon is not needed to attain Enlightenment and, everything that is needed to attain Enlightenment is not in The Pali Canon.

Everything The Buddha taught is not in The Pali Canon and, everything that is in The Pali Canon was not taught by The Buddha.

Lesson 157

With our ego being center stage, we assume these new approaches to understand the mind must be better and more profound than anything in the past.

Lesson 158

Allowing the mind to be shaken up by others speech and actions gives them power over you. Remain unaffected...speak no evil words.

Lesson 159

It is not possible for "all people" to think favorably of you.

So do not crave/desire it and the mind will remain joyful.

Lesson 160

Train your mind to stay calm in every situation.

Lesson 161

Taking the time to learn and practice The Teachings of The Buddha, life only gets better, not worse.

Lesson 162

If someone chooses to leave your life, who is not 100% supportive of you and all that you are building and creating in your life, that is to your benefit.

Lesson 163

If fear is present, the mind will be uncalm, unstable, or neurotic.

We must eliminate all fears to attain Enlightenment.

Lesson 164

An Enlightened being has eliminated 100% of all fears.

There is no fear in the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 165

Enlightenment is not a quick fix or an instantaneous result.

Lesson 166

Material objects/possessions, relationships, thoughts, ideas, states of mind, everything
in the world is constantly changing.

Lesson 167

All conditioned feelings will cease to exist.

Lesson 168

There is such peaceful sleep experienced by one with reduced or no pollutions of mind.

Lesson 169

There are such peaceful mornings experienced by one with reduced or no pollutions of mind. There is nothing that shakes up the mind.

No more grumpy or irritable mornings. No more feeling “off”. The mind is just always comfortable, serene, and joyful.

Lesson 170

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will not have bad/evil dreams. There is such peaceful sleep experienced by one with reduced or no pollutions of mind.

Lesson 171

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will be able to easily make friends and their relationships will be at ease.

Lesson 172

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will experience that beings within the other realms will look at you favorably.

Lesson 173

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will have a concentrated mind. The mind will be focused. It will be calm and relaxed yet attentive and alert.

Lesson 174

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will have a serene facial appearance.

Lesson 175

Having reduced and/or eliminated the pollutions of mind, one will have deep wisdom and fully understand this world and what occurs next. Therefore, they will be without confusion as they are nearing death and experiencing death.

Lesson 176

Having completely eliminated 100% of all pollutions of mind, one’s mind is Enlightened and there is no rebirth in The Cycle of Rebirth.

Lesson 177

You can make the choice to only have polite, kind, friendly, and respectful conversations with others.

But, you will need to train the mind to accomplish this goal. The Path to Enlightenment can be your guide.

Lesson 178

If you see the value in cleaning the body everyday, you might also consider cleaning the mind everyday.

Cleaning the mind everyday will lead to a complete and total transformation of the mind and your life.

Lesson 179

All conditioned feelings will cease to exist. All that arises will cease to exist. There is no steady, constant, or fixed mental state other than Enlightenment.

Lesson 180

Nothing truly belongs to you as you are only using everything temporarily and everything will leave us someday because it is all impermanent.

Lesson 181

Not everyone is going to agree with your opinions and views. There are going to be some people who agree with you and others who disagree.

Lesson 182

Gotama Buddha’s Teachings, that lead to Enlightenment, are meant to allow you to find a content mental state that is in the middle, so that the mind is not affected by impermanence to become “discontent” (oftentimes discussed as “suffering”).

Lesson 183

Discontentedness describes the mental state when the mind is unsatisfied, displeased, uncalm, or unpeaceful. The mind is shaken up, unsteady, or unstable.

Lesson 184

Discontentedness is a state of being, not a feeling or emotion itself.

Lesson 185

The Enlightened mind is beyond pleasure and pain where instead of experiencing conditioned happiness, excitement and elation based on an impermanent condition, it will instead experience permanent joy no longer attaching its inner feelings to impermanent conditions.

Lesson 186

If the mind is basing its inner pleasant feelings on impermanent conditions, it is also going to experience painful feelings and feelings that are neither painful-nor-pleasant based on impermanent conditions.

Lesson 187

There is no external substance that will eliminate un-welcomed thoughts and emotions to produce a content mind. Only inner development of the mind and having a “life practice” of causing no harm to yourself nor other beings, can 100% resolve your inner and external conflicts.

Lesson 188

To attain Enlightenment, you will need to learn how to “guard” the doorways to discontentedness and “protect your own contentedness” through developing a life practice of non-craving, non-desire, non-attachment, or non-clinging.

Lesson 189

There is no medication that will improve our intentions, speech, and actions as these can only be improved through training in wisdom, moral conduct, and mental discipline.

Lesson 190

Enlightenment is a permanent place for the mind to reside because once you learn something to acquire wisdom you do not “unlearn” it.

Lesson 191

Liberation of the mind by wisdom (i.e. Enlightenment) is the only mental state that is permanent.

Lesson 192

Enlightenment is a mental state where the mind can reside permanently peaceful, calm, serene, and content with joy.

Lesson 196

An Enlightened being can enjoy much more out of life because the mind is never discontent, it is deeply trained to no longer base its inner feelings on some impermanent condition.

Lesson 197

Discontentedness does not arise in an Enlightened mind.

Lesson 198

All beings in the unEnlightened state experience discontentedness of mind through pleasant feelings, painful feelings, and feelings that are neither painful-nor-pleasant.

Lesson 199

The purpose of pursuing Enlightenment is to eliminate discontentedness in the mind and ensure that there is not rebirth into the world to experience the misery of a new existence.

Lesson 200

An Enlightened mind will enjoy the rest of their life with complete peace and calmness of mind.

Lesson 201

All people who are unEnlightened will experience discontentedness of mind, however the
most important understanding and focus should be on your own mind.

Lesson 202

You can resolve the discontentedness in your own mind but you cannot resolve the discontentedness of someone else’s mind, only they can do that.

Lesson 203

Through the process of learning and emptying the mind, you will attain a purer and purer mind, thus, a more stable, content, and peaceful existence.

Lesson 204

The cause of our discontentedness is that the unEnlightened mind has cravings/desires/attachments, mental longing with a strong eagerness, wanting things to be permanent when everything is impermanent except for Enlightenment and The Natural Laws of Existence.

Lesson 205

Loving "all beings" as they are without putting your expectations on them or wanting them to change, is a significant step forward in your development on the journey to peace and joy, where all your relationships are harmonious with "true love” - the Enlightened mind.

Lesson 206

Developing Healthy Relationships.

Part of the work that one needs to do on The Path to Enlightenment is, learn to love themselves, let go of unhealthy relationships that have no possibility of improvement, and cultivate new relationships where you can practice "true love" free of expectations from others.

Lesson 207

Peacefully "moving on" from a relationship while maintaining gratitude and respect is an ability that needs to be cultivated to attain Enlightenment.

Lesson 210

The challenge in our life practice is to soften our habitual defenses, open our heart, and let go of hatred, aversion, and denial.

In this way, we can meet and embrace ourselves, others, and all inner and outer experiences with great compassion and wisdom.

Lesson 211

Universal Teachings:

Love, No Harm & Good Morals.

Lesson 212

The sacrifice a Buddha makes to share their Teachings is not easily understood by the average person.

We should have nothing but appreciation, gratitude, and respect for the man who first brought us these Teachings.

Lesson 219

To be successful in life, it is not about material possessions, wealth, fame, etc. but instead, whether or not you can cultivate harmonious relationships with all the people around you.

Lesson 222

Be sure to think through "all" your decisions.

They will produce either wholesome or unwholesome results (i.e. Kamma).

A mind with Enlightenment will have an unshakable calmness, steadiness, and be “content” or “satisfied with what is” rather than constantly craving more and more.

Lesson 225

A friend or family member's death does not need to be taken as a tragic loss. Through understanding and practicing these Teachings you can accept death as a natural and normal occurrence that will happen because we are human and we must die.

Lesson 226

Sexual intercourse is not wrong or immoral. It should be conducted in a way that does not cause harm to yourself nor others.

Lesson 228

Even if the world around you is angry and hostile, you can choose to not be angry and hostile.

Remain unaffected.

Lesson 229

An Enlightened being would be interested in bringing people together, not creating division and separation.

Harmony not Division.

Lesson 230

As you create wholesome Kamma, you should not wait or expect good things to come back immediately. You must create wholesome Kamma without expectation of a return or when it will return.

Lesson 231

Practicing loving-kindness and compassion does not necessarily mean, giving people what they “want".

Lesson 232

There should be no room in your life for negativity and bitterness towards others.
Polite, kind, friendly, and respectful to all.

It is incredibly easy for the unEnlightened mind to think negatively of others.

You can eliminate that through training of the mind.

Lesson 234

An individual who has fully cultivated wisdom and is making wise decisions, which includes loving-kindness and elimination of anger/hatred/ill will, does not need protection. It is their own wisdom and wise decisions that protects them, because they are not making any unwise decisions, thus, no harm is coming to them.

Lesson 273

As a Teacher who shares The Buddha's Teachings, I am not attempting to convince Students of anything.

Instead, I am sharing guidance of what leads to Enlightenment with those who have a sincere interest to attain Enlightenment - a peaceful, calm, serene, and content mind with joy that is permanent.

Lesson 274

Peacefulness is not obtained through prayer.

It is our decisions that cause all the difficulties in life and it is our decisions that will resolve the difficulties in life.

Lesson 275

The unEnlightened mind will oftentimes attempt to demonize others to be able to protect its own ego.

Love "all beings”...

Lesson 276

The Buddha is dead, gone, and will never return to a new existence. He does not have the ability to do anything to help you now but, his wisdom sure will help you tremendously.

God’s purpose is to help us and guide us to understanding these Natural Laws of Existence, if we choose to have a relationship with him and seek his guidance. He is not domineering and controlling but instead, here to help those who choose to have a relationship with him and request his guidance.

Lesson 329

Gotama Buddha did not Teach about an after-life or a soul. He left these “undeclared” in his Teachings. He did not Teach whether we exist nor not exist once we attain Enlightenment and die. Lesson 335

If there is love without attachment, you can experience death of those close to you without sadness, grief, nor remorse.

Lesson 337

Through the process of pursuing Enlightenment, you need to eliminate all fears from the mind including the fear of death. You will also need to train the mind to trust all beings. Eliminating your fears will help you to trust all beings.

Their hatred belongs to them, not you.
