Is Enlightenment Death?

Based on the teachings of non-self . .

Is Nibbana just a metaphor for death?

When there is no more to be achieved, attained, or discovered, isn't that death?

When there is discontentment, there is still room to grow, as there is still room for progress and improvement. But what is left to live for when there is nothing more to look forward to?

Teacher David replies.

Hello there…sure, I will help you.

I would not agree with this….Nibbana (i.e. Enlightenment) is a mental state that is attainable during this life or at death.

There is plenty more to learn in the world once the mind is Enlightened.

Having attained Enlightenment, one has attained “final knowledge”, in terms of, they fully know The Path to Enlightenment. But, there is much more to learn in the world than only The Path to Enlightenment.

Having attained Enlightenment, one will be living an ideal life that is fully satisfying and fulfilling. They would have created the perfect life for themselves. There is nothing more that the mind “wants” but instead, one is gradually progressing towards the achieving of other life goals.

An Enlightened being would have attained the very best thing ever, complete peace, joy, and inner fulfillment - permanently. But, there are other goals and objectives to work towards in the world other than Enlightenment.

While Enlightenment is significant and important, there are other things in the world besides Enlightenment. Progressing towards Enlightenment and having attained it, life will be SO much better….and all things are possible.

The mind will have eliminated discontentedness but it will still have plenty of other opportunities to grow and develop in life through the cultivation of wisdom. Attaining Enlightenment is like the beginning of the rest of your life. The mind will be fully satisfied and content but, there is still a life to live and plenty to work towards in the world having attained Enlightenment. And now, having attained Enlightenment, one can accomplish all that they choose to pursue through wise decision making with a completely peaceful and joyful mind and life.
